The Cape of Fav\u00e0ritx is located in the<strong> Tramontana area of<\/strong> the island (the northern area) and is geologically very ancient, specifically from the primary era, also known as <a title=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Era_Paleozoica\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Era_Paleozoica\">Paleozoic.<\/a> In the same Cape of Fav\u00e0ritx we can find the Lighthouse of Favaritx. The <strong>Fav\u00e0ritx Lighthouse<\/strong> is surrounded by low cliffs of <strong>black and greyish slate<\/strong>, forming a landscape that many define as lunar or even infernal.  <strong>As you head towards the lighthouse you will have the feeling that you have changed islands<\/strong>, that it is not Menorca at all.  <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_get_to_Favaritx_Lighthouse\"><\/span>How to get to Fav\u00e0ritx Lighthouse<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Check your car and motorbike access restrictions before you go.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"By_car\"><\/span>By car<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>  Reaching the Favaritx Lighthouse is relatively easy from any point of the island.  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>If you are in Mah\u00f2 you only have to take the road towards Fornells<\/strong> and deviate as soon as you see the sign indicative of the Lighthouse of Fav\u00e0ritx.<\/li>\n<li>If on the contrary you come <strong>from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/ciutadella\/\">Ciutadella,<\/a><\/strong>the best option is to take the road <strong>towards Ma\u00f2 and take the Cam\u00ed den Kane<\/strong> on the Es Mercadal detour and then reach the road from Ma\u00f2 to Fornells.<\/li>\n<li>From Ciutadella <strong>you can also take the Cam\u00ed den Kane in Alaior,<\/strong>or even later on the Rafal Rub\u00ed detour. If you are in a hurry or do not want to &#8220;waste&#8221; your time driving on secondary roads, it is best to take the detour to Rafal Rub\u00ed (see map) as it is the fastest way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Temporary_Parking_Lot_of_the_Year_2020\"><\/span>The Temporary Parking Lot of the Year 2020<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>  Since 2018, access by car to the Far de Fav\u00e0rtix has been prohibited from June to September.  <\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>In 2020, a <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/zHajT2W1wEFqgPH7A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">temporary parking lot<\/a> was made available <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/zHajT2W1wEFqgPH7A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">2 km from the lighthouse<\/a><\/strong>.<br \/>\nIt is not yet known if it will also be available between June and September 2021. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Once_There\"><\/span>Once There<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>  When you arrive at the lighthouse the first thing that should surprise you is the small <strong>natural lake<\/strong> next to the road leading to the lighthouse. This small lake is called <strong>Cos des S\u00edndic.<\/strong> It is a temporary pond<a title=\"https:\/\/www.cime.es\/lifebasses\/ca\/menorca.php?c=13\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cime.es\/lifebasses\/ca\/menorca.php?c=13\">(bassa temporal<\/a>) that is formed when there are storms and is of great <strong>ecological importance<\/strong>, as it is a resting and feeding place for some birds.  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>To preserve this lake,<\/strong>it has been necessary to fence the perimeter to prevent vehicles from moving along the surface of it when the raft is dry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <figure id=\"attachment_555\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-555\" style=\"width: 1500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/favaritx-cos-des-sindic-menorca.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-555 size-full\" title=\"Favaritx cos des sindic - menorca\" src=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/favaritx-cos-des-sindic-menorca.JPG\" alt=\"Temporary lake Cos des S\u00edndic - View from Favaritx Lighthouse\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1125\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/favaritx-cos-des-sindic-menorca.JPG 1500w, https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/favaritx-cos-des-sindic-menorca-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/favaritx-cos-des-sindic-menorca-800x600.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/favaritx-cos-des-sindic-menorca-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/favaritx-cos-des-sindic-menorca-590x443.jpg 590w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-555\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">C\u00f3s des S\u00edndic temporary raft &#8211; View from the Favaritx lighthouse<\/figcaption><\/figure> You may also be surprised by the<strong> black slate stone<\/strong> that dominates most of the landscape surrounding the lighthouse. Without a doubt it is <strong>one of the most amazing places in Menorca.<\/strong> If you are going to visit the island do not hesitate to approach the lighthouse, especially if you are a lover of nature or photography, since the place will not disappoint you. If you walk around the lighthouse, you will see that behind it and about 30 meters walking distance, there is a small cylindrical tower about 1 meter high. That tower is a good place to sit or to take pictures of the area.  <strong>If you go to the lighthouse on a warm and sunny day<\/strong>, you can always complement your excursion with a short visit to the nearest beaches:<strong><a title=\"Cala Presili - Capifort\" href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/cala-presili-capifort\/\"> Cala Presili<\/a> and <a title=\"Cala Tortuga Beach\" href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/cala-tortuga\/\">Cala Tortuga<\/a><\/strong>, which are located just south of the cape of Fav\u00e0ritx and can be reached by the Cam\u00ed Vell de Fav\u00e0ritx.  <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Legend\"><\/span>The Legend<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>  Just as <strong>there is a legend<\/strong> in the <a title=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/faro-de-cavalleria\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/lighthouse-of-cavalleria\/\">Cavalleria Lighthouse<\/a>, the Fav\u00e0ritx Lighthouse could not be less. The legend of the lighthouse says that on full moon nights, if you walk on the puddles that form around it, you receive energy, strength and fertility from the moon and the sea.  <\/p>\n<h2><span
