\/>\nThis cove is located halfway along section 12 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/cami-de-cavalls\/\">Cam\u00ed de Cavalls<\/a>, between Son Xoriguer and Son Saura.<br \/>\n<strong>Son Vell is a very narrow cove and well protected from the swell<\/strong>, so it is common to see many boats anchored in this cove, especially on days when the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/winds-of-menorca\/\">wind<\/a> blows <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/winds-of-menorca\/\">from the north<\/a>.    <\/p>\n<div Foot<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>To reach this tiny cove <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/cap-dartrutx-a-cala-en-turqueta-section-12-del-cami-de-cavalls\/\">you have to walk along section 12 of the Cam\u00ed de Cavalls<\/a><\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe shortest and easiest route is to leave from the beach of Son Xoriguer.<br \/>\nYou will have an excursion on foot of approximately 2.5Km in which you will pass through some very beautiful corners of the coast.    <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"By_Mar\"><\/span>By Mar<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>To reach Cala Son Vell by sea the most normal way is to leave from Ciutadella or from Cala en Bosch<\/strong>.<br \/>\nIn summer it is usually full of boats anchored on the sand, because when the north wind blows this cove is really quiet.   <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Once_There%E2%80%A6\"><\/span>Once There&#8230;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>  As you can see in the pictures the small Cala de Son Vell has very little to offer.<br \/>\n<strong>The sand is almost always covered with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/posidonia-oceanica\/\">Posidonia<\/a> and it is very difficult to find a place to lay a towel<\/strong>.<br \/>\nNormally there are no regular bathers in this cove: people passing by are usually on their way to Son Saura or just hiking along the Cam\u00ed de Cavalls.    <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Discover_the_Son_Vell_underwater_tunnel\"><\/span>Discover the Son Vell underwater tunnel<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>  If you have stopped at Son Vell to enjoy a swim, you can follow the right coast (facing the sea).<br \/>\nIf you continue about 80 meters you will see a kind of underwater tunnel 1.5 or 2m deep.   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Do not attempt to pass through the tunnel<\/strong> unless you are very experienced, as you will have to lie face down in the water and &#8220;crawl&#8221; by holding on to the ceiling of the tunnel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Map_and_Points_of_Interest\"><\/span>Map and Points of Interest<span
