Naveta de Rafal Rub\u00edThe<\/figcaption><\/figure>navetas of Rafal Rub\u00ed<\/strong> are megalithic<\/a> constructions built between the pre-Talayotic and Talayotic periods of prehistory.
\nThe purpose of these monuments was to protect the spirits of the deceased and they were used as collective pantheons.
\nIn the archaeological site of Rafal Rub\u00ed 2 navetas are preserved<\/strong>, which are<\/strong> basically differentiated by their position.
\nThe first naveta is the northern naveta<\/strong> (from the north), and is partially collapsed on the top.
\nThis naveta was excavated in 1977 and only some bone remains were found inside.
\nOn the outside it is about 13 meters long and inside there is a narrow corridor of less than 1 meter wide that gives access to the lower chamber.
\nThe second naveta is known as the southern naveta<\/strong> and is somewhat better preserved than its northern neighbor and has two floors.
\nIt is about 16 meters long and still preserves the two chambers (lower and upper) but without the cover.
\nWhen this naveta was excavated, two bronze pieces were found. <\/p>\n
