(Barranc d&#8217;Algendar) <strong>is the largest and most important ravine in Menorca<\/strong> and goes from Ferreries to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/cala-galdana\/\">beach of Cala Galdana.<\/a><br \/>\nThis ravine has spectacular vertical walls, which in some points of the ravine are more than <strong>80 meters high<\/strong>.   <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The peculiarity of this ravine is the presence of water throughout the year, including the summer season.<br \/>\nIn fact, the entire ravine has been formed thanks to the erosion of the river that runs along the bottom. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Route\"><\/span>The Route<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>  The excursion to the Barranco viewpoint is a <strong>simple route of 4km one way and 4km return<\/strong>.<br \/>\nIt is a total of <strong>8km that can be done walking in about 3 hours<\/strong>.   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The first part of the trail can be done by bike<\/strong>, but there comes a time when it is totally impossible to continue with it, so it is best to go on foot from the beginning.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sheep and goats can be seen<\/strong> along the road.<br \/>\nSheep are more docile and will let you photograph them if you don&#8217;t bother them, but goats will run away from you as soon as they hear you, so it is much more difficult for you to see them. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>  During the excursion you will have to cross the small torrent that runs through the base and at some point there are areas with a steep slope, so try not to carry your backpack too much if you do not want to get exhausted.<br \/>\n<strong>The excursion to the ravine is a very good plan for sunny days<\/strong> or for those who are looking for an intermediate between sun and beach.   <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_viewpoint_of_the_Barranc_dAlgendar_ravine\"><\/span>The viewpoint of the Barranc d&#8217;Algendar ravine<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>  When you reach the end of the route, at the &#8220;top&#8221; of the ravine, you will see a <strong>viewpoint with a metal fence<\/strong> to prevent fatal falls of hikers.<br \/>\nBe careful because the vertical walls are more than 50 meters high, so any false step or slip is very dangerous.<br \/>\nFrom the viewpoint you can contemplate the majesty of the ravine and have a very good perspective of the two vertical walls that rise on the sides of the stream.<br \/>\n<strong>These views are very different from any landscape
