<strong>Santa \u00c0gueda Castle<\/strong>, located 264 meters above sea level, <a title=\"source\" href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Castillo_de_Santa_%C3%81gueda\">was built<\/a> by the Arabs during the Caliphate of Cordoba.<br \/>\nThis castle <strong>served as a point of defense<\/strong> until 1343 when it was destroyed by Pedro IV of Aragon.<br \/>\nIt is currently in ruins, so do not expect to see large buildings when you visit it.    <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_get_to_Santa_Agueda\"><\/span>How to get to Santa \u00c0gueda<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>  It is <strong>very easy to<\/strong> reach the castle.<br \/>\nWith the car you must <strong>take the detour to Santa \u00c0gueda on the road from Ma\u00f3 to Ciutadella<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe entrance is very well indicated, as you can see in the picture, and from this point you have to <strong>walk about 1300 meters<\/strong> to the top <strong>.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe path is suitable for everyone.<br \/>\nThere is no parking, and the entrance only<strong> fits about 3 or 4 cars<\/strong>, so&#8230;. don&#8217;t go with a lot of people!<br \/>\nThe <strong>entrance is free<\/strong> and you can always visit, although in summer <strong>I recommend you to try it on not very hot<\/strong> or a little cloudy class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>  Although it is advertised as a castle, you will soon realize that it is <strong>the ruins of what hundreds of years ago was a castle<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe few buildings that are still standing are closed and you can not enter them, so you can simply <strong>look from the outside and through the bars of doors and windows<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<strong>The best thing about this site is its views<\/strong>, from the highest part of the hill you will see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/monte-toro\/\">Monte Toro<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/lighthouse-of-cavalleria\/\">lighthouse of Cavaller\u00eda<\/a>, and the entire north coast of Menorca.    <figure id=\"attachment_1487\"
