main areas<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The northern zone: <\/strong>with rugged relief and rather dark rock.<br \/>\nIn general, the northern beaches are more difficult to access and have less human presence. <\/li>\n<li><strong>The southern zone:<\/strong> has a <strong>more regular landscape<\/strong>, with <strong>more vegetation<\/strong> and lighter rocks and sand.<br \/>\nIn general, the southern beaches have a whiter and finer sand and crystal clear waters typical of postcards. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>  Another difference between north and south is the <strong>building and the presence of tourists<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On the <strong>southern beaches of Menorca there is usually more construction and more tourists<\/strong>, as the coves are generally more accessible and better known.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>  In the <strong>northern beaches there are fewer people and much less urban development<\/strong>.<br \/>\nIt is a fairly unspoiled coast and it takes longer to access the beaches.   <\/p>\n<h2>The Winds of Menorca<\/h2>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_25941\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-25941\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption and Rain<\/figcaption><\/figure>  In addition to the great <strong>geological<\/strong> and touristic <strong>differences<\/strong>, the difference between north and south also has some importance for tourists who have boats and sail around the island.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/winds-of-menorca\/\"><strong>When the wind blows from the south, the northern area is usually calmer, and the opposite happens when the wind blows from the north.<\/strong><\/a>The opposite happens when the wind blows from the north.<br \/>\nThe logic of the boats also applies to those who travel to the beaches by car: when the north blows, it is better to go south, and when the south blows, it is better to go north.    <\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>To know the wind on a given day<\/strong>, several systems can be used.<br \/>\nIf you have no idea, the best thing to do is to ask someone who knows or <a title=\"The winds of Menorca\" href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/winds-of-menorca\/\">look it up on the Internet<\/a>. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>  Here is a list of beaches in the North and South, not all of them, just
