\/>\nThe journey <strong>from Ciutadella to Macarella can take you about 20-25 minutes by car<\/strong>, and a little more than 1 hour by bike.<br \/>\nIt is the same road you have to take to go to <a title=\"Son Saura Beaches\" href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/son-saura\/\">Son Saura<\/a> or <a title=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/cala-en-turqueta\/\" motorcycles to reach the beach) one of the most popular routes to get to Macarella and Macarelleta is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/de-galdana-a-macarelleta-routa-de-los-miradores-de-5-km\/\">the Miradores route from Cala Galdana.<\/a> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The route is <strong>5km<\/strong> long<\/li>\n<li>The <b>trail is easy and suitable for everyone, including children.<\/b><\/li>\n<li>The scenery at each viewpoint is spectacular<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Arriving_by_bus_from_Ciutadella_%E2%80%93_82E\"><\/span>Arriving by bus from Ciutadella &#8211; 8.2\u20ac.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>  Since 2018 there are restrictions to cars and motorcycles for access to Macarella and Macarelleta.  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>From June 1st <\/strong>(some years it is delayed to July 1st)<strong> to September 30th<\/strong> you can only <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bus2macarella.com\/index.html\">access Macarella and Macarelleta by taking a bus<\/a> from Ciutadella<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cime.es\/publicacions\/verpub.aspx?Id=65701\">(Note from the Consell Insular de Menorca<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Once_There%E2%80%A6\"><\/span>Once There&#8230;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>  On the same beach <strong>there is a beach bar<\/strong> with capacity for more than 100 people, and at lunchtime it is usually full.<br \/>\nThe main problem of this beach is that due to its popularity, the parking lots and the services it has, it is quite crowded. <strong>The alternative to Macarella is <a title=\"Cala Macarelleta\" href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/cala-macarelleta\/\">Macarelleta<\/a><\/strong>, a small beach right next to it, which can be reached on foot in about 5 minutes.   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>I personally do not like to go to Macarella in summer<\/strong>, as it is very crowded.<br \/>\nWhile it is true that it is a beautiful cove, like almost all the <a title=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/tag\/playas-sur\/\" href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/tag\/south-beaches\/\">beaches in the south<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/que-beaches-of-menorca-estan-mas-empty-in-summer\/\">amount of people can be a bit overwhelming<\/a>. <\/li>\n<li>Obviously,<strong> people see pictures and don&#8217;t think twice before going to Macarella<\/strong>.<br \/>\nMy advice is to go early and take a short hike to <a title=\"Cala Macarelleta\" href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/cala-macarelleta\/\">Macarelleta<\/a>, where at least you will be a bit calmer. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Visit_the_Underwater_Cave_of_Macarella\"><\/span>Visit the Underwater Cave of Macarella<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aHYdiksUM24\" width=\"800\" height=\"415\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>If you like snorkeling and you have enough experience<\/strong>, you can try <strong>diving under a submarine cave in Macarella<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you swim out from Macarella, sticking to the cliff on the left, after about 150 meters there is a cave through which you can pass.<\/li>\n<li>If you decide to try it, don&#8217;t do it alone, you should always have someone by your side in case you have any
