class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Binigaus_Ravine\"><\/span>The Binigaus Ravine<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>  The Binigaus ravine <strong>begins in the town of es Migjorn and ends at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/binigaus\/\">Binigaus<\/a> beach<\/strong>, near the beach of Santo Tomas.<br \/>\n<strong>In this ravine we can visit several caves, the best known being the Cova des Coloms (<\/strong> also called La Catedral).   <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_get_to_the_Cova_des_Coloms\"><\/span>How to get to the Cova des Coloms<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_26112\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26112\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Rampa-de-acceso-a-la-Cova-des-Coloms-scaled.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-26112\" not easy.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Getting_from_Es_MigJorn\"><\/span>Getting from Es MigJorn<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>  You can get there from the village of es Migjorn or from the beach of Santo Tom\u00e1s.<br \/>\n<strong>I recommend going on foot or by bike<\/strong> (there are some sections of considerable difficulty for mountain biking) from es Migjorn.   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To get to the road that leads from es Migjorn to Binigaus beach, simply drive <strong>along the main road to Ferreries and take the detour to es Migjorn.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Once you arrive at es Migjorn<\/strong> follow the signs to the beach.<br \/>\nYou can leave your car next to the cemetery at the beginning of the road, although there are only 6 or 7 parking spaces. <\/li>\n<li>During the Camino you will pass by the Hotel Binigaus Vell.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Once on the road you have to follow the arrows and painted signs to the Cova<\/strong>.<br \/>\nYou will see signs with Cave, Cova, Coves, and also red or yellow paint marks that you must follow. <\/li>\n<li>If you manage not to get lost on the paths, you will reach a ramp from which you can access the Cova.<\/li>\n<li>It should not take more than <strong>30 minutes from the start of the trail to the Cova.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_get_there_from_Binigaus_Beach\"><\/span>How to get there from Binigaus Beach<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>  You can also walk to the Cova des Coloms from Binigaus beach.<br \/>\nI have never done the route, but it is simply a matter of following a path.   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is easy to get lost, so I recommend carrying a GPS track on a watch or cell phone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Once_There%E2%80%A6\"><\/span>Once There&#8230;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>  When you arrive at the Cova des Coloms<strong> you will be surprised by its dimensions<\/strong>.<br \/>\nIt is a cave <strong>300 meters long, 15 meters wide and 24 meters high<\/strong>.<br \/>\nIf you decide to enter the cave be careful because the floor is very slippery in areas where there are stones due to the high humidity in the place.    <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>It is believed that this cave was used as a sanctuary or as a place of religious pilgrimage judging by the findings that were made inside it decades ago.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Visit_the_beaches_in_the_area\"><\/span>Visit the beaches in the area<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_6875\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6875\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption id=\"caption-attachment-6875\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Binigaus and St. Thomas<\/figcaption><\/figure>  Once you have seen the Cova in detail you can go back the way you came or <strong>go to one of the nearby beaches<\/strong>.<br \/>\nThe easiest option is to go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/binigaus\/\"><strong>Binigaus<\/strong><\/a>.<br \/>\nIn about 25 minutes you can be on this wonderful beach. <strong>For the more adventurous I recommend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/cala-escorxada\/\">Cala Escorxada<\/a><\/strong>, a spectacular beach and very difficult to access (If you go by bike, you will have to leave it at a specific point of the route unless you are an expert).<br \/>\nIf you go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/en\/cala-escorxada\/\">Cala Escorxada<\/a>, do not forget to return before dark or it will be more difficult to orient yourself and calculate that it will take about 1 hour to return to the starting point in es Migjorn.     <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Visit_other_nearby_caves\"><\/span>Visit other nearby caves<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_26114\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26114\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.menorcadiferente.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/Cova-Polida-cerrada-en-el-2020-scaled.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-26114\" id=\"caption-attachment-26114\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cova Polida closed in 2020<\/figcaption><\/figure>  If what you want is to visit similar places, you can try to reach the Cova del Xalar, the cova Polida or the Galliner de Madona (places very close to the Cova des Coloms) although I have to admit that I have never visited them.  <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\"
