About the Guide

In November 2009, the Consell Insular de Menorca presented the first guide of the Camí de Cavalls in Menorca. The Guide of the Camí is intended to be a tool that helps residents and tourists interested in knowing the roads surrounding the island of Menorca.

The Camí de Cavalls Guide has 180 pages and 14 chapters in which everything related to the Camí de Cavalls and its heritage and landscape value is explained in detail. In the last two chapters you can find information about the routes of the camí, the difficulties of each route, the peculiarities, etc.

If you are looking for specific information about the Camí de Cavalls, you are likely to be disappointed, since most of its content is general information of tourist interest. The information about the Camí is limited to twenty pages that give information on the 20 stages of the Camí de Cavalls and its difficulty on foot.

Buy Other Books of the Camí de Cavalls

In addition to the Guide of the Camí de Cavalls, there is another guide of the Alpine publishing house with hiking and MTB trails through the Camí de Cavalls (GR-223). This guide has been on sale since February 2011 and is having a lot of success in the Balearic Islands and Catalonia.

Where Can You Buy the Official Guide?

The Guide of the Camí de Cavalls can be purchased in the bookstores of Menorca and in the Tourist Information offices at a price of 21 EUR the copy, although in some bookstores it is sold out.

If you need some information about the content of the guide, you can write to me and I will be happy to inform you.

Unfortunately, I still do not know where this guide can be purchased, because at CIME they are not very good in providing information and offering online services. And to check it you only need to visit their website and start crying.

New Guide 2016 Camí de Cavalls: 15 Circular Itineraries

In January 2016, GOB Menorca announced the publication of a new guide for hikers on the Camí de Cavalls. The guide is entitled “Camí de Cavalls: 15 Circular Itineraries“.

The interesting thing about this new guide is that it is specially designed for people who want to make small circular tracks (with start and end in the same place) along the Camí de Cavalls. This makes it much easier to do excursions as you don’t have to think about how to get back to the starting point..

How to buy the Guide from outside Menorca (Peninsula)

I have received many questions from people who live outside Menorca and cannot get the guide. If you do not live in Menorca and want to buy the Guide of the Camí de Cavalls, you may have gone crazy looking for it in different bookstores. The Guide can only be purchased in Menorca (as of March 2019).

The only way to get it from the peninsula is by contacting the tourist information office of Maó ([email protected]). If you send them an email, they will give you all the information and a bank account number to make the payment.

As soon as you make the bank transfer, they will send the guide home. The price of the Guide, including shgipping costs and delivery commitment in 48 hours, is 30 EUR (21EUR + 9EUR parcel post).
