Cala Mica

Mica is a small beach located right next to Cavalleria and stands out for its particular shell shape. The sand of Cala Mica has medium grains and also some small rocks. Even in the middle of the summer season there are usually few people, as other beaches in the same area such as Cavalleria or Pregonda steal all the limelight. Cala Mica is located within the Marine Reserve of the north of Menorca.

How to Get To Cala Mica

Cala Mica can only be reached on foot or by bike from Cavalleria. You have to follow the Camí de Cavalls trail and pass through Cavalleria beach. This is a very simple excursion, suitable for all ages and only 1500 meters. If you go by car you will have to park in the free parking in Cala Cavalleria, and from there walk to the shore of Cavalleria. Once on the beach you have to continue walking along the Camí de Cavalls that passes behind Cavalleria and after about 10 minutes you will arrive at Cala Mica.

As Cala Mica is a secluded beach without any services or lifeguards, you will be forced to enjoy the beach without much company. Remember that you are inside the Marine Reserve of the north of Menorca, so good diving goggles are ideal for snorkeling. If when you get to the beach you don’t feel like staying, there’s always time to go back the way you came and enjoy the beautiful beach of Cavalleria, so there’s not much reason not to try the excursion.

Hotels Near Cala Mica

Cala Mica is a beach very isolated from the urban centers and therefore the best thing to do if you want to stay nearby is to book a hotel in Es Mercadal. I recommend these two hotels:

1. Hotel Es Mercadal: a nice hotel inside a Menorcan house of the nineteenth century. It has free WiFi but no swimming pool. Located in the center of Es Mercadal, in 15 minutes you can plant yourself in the parking lot access to Cala Cavalleria and Cala Mica.
2. Agroturisme Ca Na Xini: I will not fool you, this rural hotel is a little further from Cala Mica (8km from Es Mercadal) but it is one of the bests hotels of Menorca and that has a price. Just look at the photos to understand the kind of hotel you can stay in.
