Es Talaier Beach
Última actualización: 17/01/2015
Es Talaier is a small unspoilt beach in the south of Ciutadella. It is located very close (walking distance) to the popular Son Saura, and in summer it gets very crowded with bathers.
Es Talaier is another one of the typical southern beaches of Menorca, with its classic turquoise waters and fine white sand. If you came to Menorca to enjoy their natural beaches, you’ve reached one of them!
One of the peculiar features Es Talaier is its shallow depth, which makes it possible to walk into the sea without the need to swim. It also has a sand surface quite large compared to the short length of the beach.
How To Get There
You can reach Es Talaier from Son Saura beach and from Cala en Turqueta beach. I prefer to go from Son Saura, since parking there is free.
From the parking of Son Saura have to walk about 5 minutes to the beach. Then continue by the famous Cami de Cavalls (gr223) for about 15 or 20 minutes. During the walk you can appreciate the amazing color of the water around Es Talaier.
Bring plenty of water if it is sunny, because there are no services of any kind and if it’s warm you’ll suffer from fehydration very quickly.
Once You Are There …
Once on the beach there are no services of any kind, so it is necessary to take food and plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
There may be someone selling bottles of water at high prices, something that is becoming fashionable during the month of August in Menorca.
The beach is shallow, so you can venture into the sea and get to one of the two “micro-bays” there is at the right and left side of Es Talaier. On the left side you can see a yellow rocky area that you can use to take cool photos. On the right side you can see the water appearing in the picture above this article.
