Sa Farola Beach - Cala des Frares in Springtime
Sa Farola Beach – Cala des Frares in Spring
Sa Farola Beach, also known as Cala des Frares, is a tiny cove located very close to the port of Ciutadella.
It is a very very small beach with hardly any sand space for towels.
Most of the bathers use the concrete platforms built around the sea.
This beach is very well protected from the wind, so the water is always calm.
In addition, from 2021 the entry of boats to this area has been banned.
It has been a drastic measure to protect the posidonia meadows on the seabed in the area.
If you end up on this beach, it is most likely because you are walking along the magnificent Paseo de Sa Farola, which connects Ciutadella with Cala en Blanes along the coast.
