Many times we are asked if it is better to visit Menorca by motorcycle or by car and, in fact, everything has advantages and disadvantages.
In my opinion, if you go in couple or alone perhaps the motorcycle is a more economic way, that will allow you more freedom of movement and will facilitate the access to many coves.
Menorca is a relatively small island, the distances are not too long and renting a motorcycle allows you to park without problem in the main cities and, the most important thing, to enter the parkings of the most crowded coves in the middle of August.
So if you travel in high season, renting a motorcycle in Menorca can save you a lot of early mornings.
The best thing is to plan a route of not many kilometers each day and go at your own pace.
Menorca is an island of calm rhythm, without much traffic and with narrow roads to get lost.
Going by motorcycle will give you this freedom. Choose secondary roads to make your experience a real adventure and get to know closely the most hidden villages and the natural wealth of the island.
For example, visiting Menorca by motorcycle will allow you to see the sunset at the lighthouse of Punta Nati without having to worry if the parking will be full or to visit Favàritx y Presili cove being sure that you will be able to leave your vehicle there.

One of the companies with more offer in scooter rentals in Menorca is Cooltra.
They have many years of experience renting to both tourists and locals.
They have scooter rental points at the airport of Maó and at the ports of Ciutadella and Maó and also in several key tourist spots of the island. They rent motorcycles by the day and also by the month for a small monthly fee.
The rental motorcycles can be gasoline or electric and are scooters of different models and displacements according to your needs or preferences.

5 Motorbike Plans in Menorca

And to whet your appetite and plan your route, we recommend 5 plans to visit Menorca by motorcycle.
Take note.

1. By motorcycle to Son Saura Beach

Son Saura Beaches in Ciutadella (Bellavista)

Son Saura is one of my favorite beaches in the south of Menorca.
It is very accessible, but in summer the parking lot fills up early.
If you go by motorcycle you will have no problem and you can park next to the door.
Once there I recommend you to walk to the beach at the end (Bellavista beach), just as nice and with much less people.

2. Sunset from Punta Nati lighthouse.

This is one of the star plans in summer.
After a day at the beach, you feel like a quiet plan.
The sunset on the rocky terrain of Punta Nati has something magical.
The parking is not huge and the motorcycle will become your best ally to avoid problems of space.
Once there, don’t forget a jacket and get ready to enjoy the show.

3. By motorcycle to Binigaus beach

In the south zone of the island, is the beach of Binigaus, very pretty and less crowded than others more known.
Its sand is white and fine and the water has the characteristic turquoise color of the southern beaches.
The parking is near and in front of it there is the beach bar Es Bruc, perfect to have a drink after a day at the beach or to have dinner enjoying the sunset.

4. Visit the village of Fornells

If you want to try a good lobster stew, stop by Fornells.
A charming little village in the north of Menorca, where you can eat well, stroll through its streets of white houses or go kayaking in the bay.
The fourth weekend of July are the festivities of Sant Antoni, where you can participate in the famous jaleos.

5. Visit to the lighthouse of Favàritx and Cala Presili

Cala Presili (also known as Capifort)
Cala Presili (also known as Capifort)
Another place not to be missed is the area of the cape of Favàritx.
A very different area of Menorca, for its more rugged appearance and the black color of the slate rocks surrounding the lighthouse.
In days of storm the spectacle is impressive.
Prepare the camera.
If the day is fine, a short walk to Cala Presili or Cala Tortuga (a little further) is highly recommended.
And the view of the lighthouse from the coves will please you.
For both plans, it is an advantage to have a motorcycle, as there is no parking space delimited and you have to park on the side of the road.
If you go by motorcycle you will have no problem.

Reserve your 125cc Motorbike in Maó

If you want to have your motorcycle reserved for your vacations, you can book it online.
The collection of the motorcycle is in Plaça de s’ Esplanada, 28 de Maò (Google Maps)
