Cala Presili (also known as Capifort), is the first of the beaches reached from the Favàritx lighthouse through the Camí de Cavalls.
It does not resemble other coves in the north of Menorca, as its sand is white and fine and does not have the characteristic red colors of Cavalleria or Pregonda.
The beach is usually frequented by nudists and is located within the limits of the Albufera des Grau.
This means that you are in a protected area and declared a biosphere reserve, so respect it!

Several people have alerted me that the sand on the beach is different from the old photos.
Here is a photo of what the sand on the beach looked like in early 2020.

How to get to Cala Presili

To get there from both Ciutadella and Maó you have to head towards the Favàritx lighthouse.
Once you reach the road leading to the lighthouse, ignore the private property sign and continue straight on. About 200 meters before reaching the lighthouse you will see a parking lot on the left side of the road, and a little further on, on the right side of the road, is the Camamil-la turnoff with information signs for Cala Presili and Cala Tortuga.

From the Camamil-la turnoff in front of the parking lot the road is indicated, as it is the Camí de Cavalls.

  • To get to Presili you will have to walk less than 1 km along the Camí de Cavalls.
  • There is a moment when the road deviates and you can choose between going towards Presili or Tortuga.
  • The trail can also be done by bicycle(mountain bike) without great difficulty.

If you want to go to Tortuga you will have to walk 1km more from the detour, but you will be on a beach a little emptier than Presili.
I personally like Cala Presili better, even though it is more crowded.

Once There…

As you may have guessed, there are no services of any kind in Cala Presili.
If you go in summer do not forget to bring water.
On the beach you can enjoy crystal clear water and views of the Favàritx lighthouse.

It is a good place for snorkeling or scuba diving, like most beaches on the north coast of Menorca.
If you are also into hiking, you cannot miss a visit to Cala Tortuga, as you only have to follow the path you came just before turning off and walk 1200 meters.
The views of Tortuga beach and the lagoon behind it are worth it!
