Where to eat in Menorca?
When you go as a tourist, without knowing anyone in the place, sometimes it is difficult to know where to eat.
We have asked friends and acquaintances who live there all year round to recommend us their favorite restaurants in Menorca, those where they go with their family or partner when they want to have lunch or dinner out. Restaurants recommended by Menorcans themselves and that will not let you down.
We have divided them by zones and according to who has recommended them.
They are quality restaurants, with prices for all budgets and where you will eat luxury.
Here they go!
1. Restaurants in Maó recommended by Raquel de Transparent Menorca
Mmm… difficult choice! We love to eat and we go to many places, but if I have to choose 2… They would be:
Can Vermut in Maó
The food is really wonderful, it can’t get any better, and they are 10.
We’ve been going there for years and they just keep getting better and better!
El Disbarat in Maó
They’ve been open for a year like us, and it has found its place.
It’s a great place to go with friends and has delicious burgers!
Speaking of burgers… Puspaayu in Ciutadella is another place we are also fans of.

3. Restaurants where to eat Caldereta de Langosta – recommended by our friend Gracia, from Fornells.
Es Cranc – in Fornells
It is not cheap, but you are assured a caldereta and dishes with lobster of maximum quality.
In order not to leave you the pocket in the dinner, you can divide a caldereta between two and ask for a starter also to share.
More than enough.
And you can top it off with a delicious homemade cheesecake.

5. Restaurants in Ciutadella
The area of Ciutadella is the one I know best and I have gone out to party and dine on many occasions.
I already wrote an article in its day with which for me are the best restaurants in Ciutadella, but I emphasize here some that I recommend to you specially.
Smoix – Far from port but delicious
It is perfect for dinners with family or friends.
If you call to book well in advance, you can ask for one of their 2 round tables (I like them better than the square ones, since you see everyone).
- You must try their Crayfish Ravioli.
- The desserts are very good, both the homemade Tiramisu and the white chocolate soup with floating brownie cubes.
Bar Triton – In the port of Ciutadella
Perfect for a family dinner, tapas hand in hand as a couple or a snack after a night out.
In summer there is a queue and they do not reserve, so you better go early.
For dessert, I always go to Sa Gelateria, which is next door.
Get your ice cream and sit in their chairs and watch the people go by.
Pure summer entertainment.
- Address: Calle Marina 55, 07760 Menorca
- Telephone: 971 38 00 02
S’amarador – In the port of Ciutadella
Kitchen of market with fresh products of the island, everything very rich and good quality price.
If you want to save money and not find so many people, go at noon.
They have a menu and if you go early it will be easier to find a place.
If you go with children, choose the outside terrace.
You will have them under control and they will be distracted throwing bread to the fish of the port.
- Address: c/ Pere Capllonch nº42 Ciutadella de Menorca
- Telephone: 971 383 524
Sa Nacra Cave – In Santandria

The Cova Sa Nacra beach bar is one of my favorite places to eat something with sea views.
Whether you go with your family, friends or partner, you will enjoy this small restaurant on the beach of Santandria.
It is essential to reserve a table.
At Sa Nacra you can order Mediterranean tapas and they also have very good fish dishes.
Nopales – Ciutadella

It is one of my favorite restaurants for a good dinner at a very reasonable price.
Besides having about 8 tables inside the small place, sometimes they have 1 or 2 double tables on the terrace.
Home of the Chicken – Tapas in Ciutadella
It is almost always completely full and there is a queue to occupy one of its terrace tables during the summer.
- My favorites: Zamburiñas (scallops), lacón (pork shoulder) and chipirones (baby squid).
Bar Imperi – Snacks and Drinks in Ciutadella

Bar Imperi is one of the most famous bars in Ciutadella and Menorca.
Everybody knows it and it is usually full almost all year round.
I love the sandwiches and juices, and also their toasts and some pastries for breakfast.
6. Restaurants Recommended by Valeria and Adam of Freedive Menorca
Bakery of Cala Torret – Binibeca
I love La Bakery de Cala Torret because it is the perfect breakfast when we get out of the water after freediving: natural fruit juices and simple things made with love and care.
– Valeria (How to get to Bakery Cala Torret)
Bar Paput – Port of Maò
What I like most about Bar Paput is the atmosphere and the nachos, which for me are the best I’ve tasted in Menorca.
– Adam ( How to get to Bar Paput)
Barracuda Restaurant – Binibeca
What I love about the Barracuda is the local ambiance and the friendly and kind staff.
Plus the food is quality.
