SantadriaNearly everyone likes to go out for lunch and dinner during their vacations.
Fortunately for everyone Ciutadella has a rich and varied gastronomic offer that satisfies the appetite of all the public and all the pockets.
I am often asked for good places to dine out in Ciutadella, so here is my list of the best restaurants in Ciutadella, there are 20 restaurants in total .

I have ordered the best restaurants in Ciutadella according to my opinion taking into account the quality-price ratio and giving a score from 0 to 10.
I have assigned an average price per person for dinner, without expensive wine or seafood (lobster, shrimp, prawns, etc.).

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do, or even more!
Do not be guided by the prices I indicate unless you see them extremely expensive, the price depends on what each one orders at the end.
Avoid wine and desserts and you will see how the bill goes down, then you can go out for drinks ( COVID restrictions permitting…)!

Restaurant Sant Ignasi by Smoix (10/10) – 40€: Smoix on Ronda Balears street (they have changed premises in 2024).
Smoix has moved from the center of Ciutadella to the beautiful rural hotel Sant Ignasi.
The staff is always excellent and the quality of the dishes is excellent.
In 2016 they changed location in Ciutadella and in 2018 they reopened the terrace.
In 2024 they changed location again. My favorite restaurant without a doubt, where it is difficult to choose a dish that is not surprising and delicious.
Balearic Coffee (10/10) – 40€: With Bar Tritón, the two classics of the port. The quality of the product is very high and therefore has a price.
Reservations are not allowed on the terrace.
In August, if you arrive after 21.00 you will wait 1 hour for sure.
The waiters go with trays in hand and quite fast along the promenade.
The interior is more formal than the terrace, the tablecloth is made of thread and you can see more fish and seafood.
Es Tast de Na Silvia ( 9.5/10) – 35€: Slow food and Km 0 cuisine . With special attention to the product and service.
Super personalized and friendly service.
The lunch menu is worth it.

Pinzell: (9/10) – 40€: Located in the beautiful Plaça dels Pins, you can eat tapas, rice dishes, fish and quality meats.
I have yet to try their desserts, but the food is delicious.
S’Amarador (9/10) – 45€: Arrived in the port of Ciutadella a few years ago. For very special occasions, unless you are someone very important and need to be seen in places like this.
If you go only once, ask for the upper terrace with views; if not, wait for another day.
“Figues d’un altre paner” they say.
Cas Cònsol (8/10) – 35€: In es Born and with spectacular views of the Port of Ciutadella.
At night it is well worth it if you dine on the upper terrace overlooking the harbor entrance.
Hotel Rural Morvedra Nou (8/10) – 35€: Another rural hotel where to dine with a different touch.
No noise, no children, no complications. Only for those looking for maximum relaxation and quality food.
If you drink do not drive, the road back is criminal.
Hostal Sa Premsa (8/10) – 25€: At the end of Paseo Nicolás.
A midday lunch on the terrace or an unpretentious dinner.
It overlooks the new port of Ciutadella and is somewhat removed from both the center and the hustle and bustle.
To go for tapas it has a very good quality-price ratio.
In addition it is quite easy to park very close to the place.
If the wind blows from south be prepared and wrap up well.
Cuk-Cuk Gastronomic Experiences: (8/10) – 9 a 36€: In the old town of Ciutadella, a cozy place where Elena and Alex teach you how to cook typical Menorcan dishes and then you can eat them in their garden terrace.
Caldereta de Langosta, Paellas or Fideuá, you choose the dish, you cook it and then you eat it.
Highly recommended!
Always book in advance, it only seats 12 people and in summer it is always full.
Hogar del Pollo: (8/10) – 20€: Near Cas Marino the classic Hogar del Pollo. Forget the glamour and order lacón con grelos and you will repeat.
Dine out if you can in summer and you can enjoy watching everyone strolling around.
Pizzeria Roma (8/10) – 25€: Very close to Es Born. More than just pizzas, good pasta.
From the same owners of Balear, which is already a fact to take into account.
Too bad there are no more tables on the street.
Grill Es Caliu (8/10) – 30€ : 4 km from Ciutadella before reaching Cala Blanca.
Grilled meats; a single dish(a pepper steak if you are carnivorous) is enough if you are not a glutton.
Triton Bar (8/10) – 30€: The one of all the life with the Balearic in the port of Ciutadella. You have to go if you can.
If you are lucky and can go in January, then the octopus is spectacular.
No reservations, you queue up for a batch if you want to dine outside to enjoy the views of the port.
The best pilotes with tomato I have ever tasted (meatballs), you will see people lining up at 5 in the morning to buy a “pilotes sandwich”.
They hardly ever close.
Curniola 35 (8/10) – 30€: In the center of Ciutadella. Small and cozy place in a house from 1845.
They make tapas and dishes of Menorcan and Mediterranean cuisine very elaborated.
Homemade desserts and very good.
The terrace is cool but it is very small, if you feel crowded near the other tables it is better to go inside.
Ses Voltes (8/10) – 25€ : Where its name indicates (in Ses Voltes). For tapas or fast food while watching a soccer match in the lounge after a bike ride.
For dinner I prefer the terrace on the second floor, which is very nice, and where the menu is different.

Restaurants Removed from the Ranking

Rels Restaurant (closed in 2023) (9/10) – 35€: Restaurant opened in 2016 where Smoix used to be.
Menu 18 € weekdays and weekend 28 €.
They cook only with natural foods and everything is prepared by them, really spectacular, more dishes than tapas.
MandiMandi (closed in 2020) (7.5/10) – 15€: This cozy Italian restaurant has moved to Ciutadella from Barcelona.
The best things about this 2015 newcomer are the views of Ciutadella’s harbor and city wall and its typical dishes from the small Italian region of Friuli.
The 10€ lunch menu is really good.
La Payesa: Another of the classic restaurants of the port of Ciutadella. The best thing is the service, let yourself be advised, but do not ask for anything sophisticated; with the rice broth you already have plenty.
Ses Truqueries (closed): for me the best restaurant for its location and its dinners on the outdoor terrace, a pity they closed.
Cas Marino (closed): Near the market.
Small (tiny) and cozy place, where booking is very difficult.
The best Galician octopus, mussels, omelette, squid.
Simple but very good, as it should be.
The Estrella?
Galician of course.
Before 2013 it was in the first place but I have received complaints about the service and its excessive slowness in serving.
Pizzeria Oristano (closed): Near the tower d’Artrutx and 3 minutes walk from the cocktail bars of Es Pla.
If you want to go faster ask for it to the biker who brings it to you at home without problems.
Ideal for young people and groups of friends, pizza and party.
In 2015 they had a problem in social networks and right now it is not clear that they will open in 2016.
Racó des Palau (to be updated): (7/10) -15€ : Good pizzas near the Cathedral of Ciutadella.
La Cayena (temporarily closed): (7.5/10) – 25€: Between Contramurada and Ciutadella Market.
Vegetables, woks and similar for those who suffer from cholesterol.
It is a place more typical of a city than of a “village” like Ciutadella.
Cas Ferrer (closed) ( 8/10) – 30€: Dines very well if you are patient.
On the way to Cala Blanca you can buy vegetables from the owner’s family.
Cabòria (closed) (10/10) – 40€: Cabòria Restaurant opened in 2021 and offers signature cuisine with local products.
The service is excellent and the setting, inside an old house in the old town, is very nice.
Nopales (closed) ( 8/10) – 20€: Opened in 2019 (closed in 2023) by the same owners of Smoix.
This is a very very good Mexican food restaurant at reasonable prices.
Very good option for a quick bite to eat.
Try their micheladas!
