It is a funerary hypogeum from the Bronze Age.
This hypogeum was used as a collective burial place.
In its interior the members of a family or community were deposited as they died.

What is a Hypogeum?
A Hypogeum is a subway construction, sometimes excavated in a rock, with vaulted ceilings.
Hypogeums wereused by some civilizations as a burial place.

In its interior there are some engravings in stone that represent three ships and other unidentified figures.
In its interior a small bench is conserved around the whole perimeter of the chamber.
The hypogeum preserves part of the stone gallery that covered part of the corridor and the entrance.
The corridor is 2.6 m long.
The chamber is 8.8 m long, 2.5 m wide and 1.95 m high.
History of the Torre del Ram Hypogeum
As there is no information about the original contents of the Hypogeum, the number of people buried in it, the type of grave goods or the exact chronology of the site is not known.
Due to the similarity of this Hypogeum with others for which there is more data, it is estimated that the Torre del Ram Hypogeum was used between 1700 and 1400 BC.
