Savinar de Mongofra beach is a small and isolated cove in the north of Menorca next to the small port of Addaia.
This beach has a lot of names and you can refer to it as Savinar, es Savin, Savinar de Mongofra, Mongofra, Mongofra Nou, etc.
The beach is easy to access, although it takes a long time to get there, and not very similar to other beaches in the northern area, so even in full tourist season the presence of bathers is low.
The sandy area is about 150 meters wide by 25 meters long, so there is plenty of space considering how few people come here.
Sometimes I have seen people who go around the Camí de Cavalls reach this beach to spend the night in the hut on the shore, as it is far from urban centers and goes unnoticed.

How to get to Savinar de Mongofra
To get to the beach of Mongofra (or Mongofre) you have to go to the beginning of section 3 of the Camí de Cavalls, very close to the lighthouse of Favàritx.
If you go by car you have to follow the same indications as to go to the lighthouse(check the access restrictions every year, they are changing).
Once you are on the unmistakable road that leads to Favàritx, there is a moment when on the left side of the road you will see a wooden fence with the signs indicating the Camí de Cavalls, and a few meters ahead an area where about 4 cars can be parked.
From the free “parking” you must walk along the Camí de Cavalls.
It is an area without vegetation or shade, so if the day is sunny you should bring plenty of water.
In total you will have to walk 3.9km to Mongofra beach in about 1 hour.
The main problem of the route is that the detour to Mongofra is NOT indicated and it is not Camí de Cavalls, so you have to be careful not to miss it.
The detour to the right must be taken just when you see the sign for Salinas de Mongofra at 3.4km (between the post 35 and 45 of section 3, look carefully at the numbers on the wooden posts!)
If you miss the detour you’ll end up in Addaia and you’ll get a good disappointment and a good scolding of more than 2 hours.
Once There
Once in Mongofra you will see the peculiar Caseta des Senyor de Mongofra, a particular construction used by the owners of the estate for their personal enjoyment of the beach.
Some people spend the night in this hut when they go around the Camí de Cavalls.
If you have come this far you can relax because you are in another of the hidden corners of Menorca, very few people and no service that prevents you from enjoying a totally isolated environment.
