The Route
Section 15 of the Camí de Cavalls is the one that goes from the beach of Santo Tomás to the beach of Son Bou (the longest beach of Menorca).
It is a stretch of about 3km of distance of very easy difficulty that can be covered in less than 2 hours both on foot and by bike.
It can be done on foot without any problem.
In Mountain Bike there is a stretch just when the beach of Santo Tomás ends in which you will have to get off the bike to climb some stairs and rock slopes quite steep, but then it’s pretty flat to Son Bou. The best thing about this route is the contrast between the beginning and the middle and end sections. At the beginning of the route you will pass by the magnificent beaches of Cala Mitjana and Cala Mitjaneta, where you can contemplate the beauty of the coast of Menorca. Once you leave the beach behind, the route passes through inland forests where you can forget that you are on an island, with a variety of fauna and vegetation.

How to get to the beginning or end of the Route
You can start the route at any of the two points.
The buses that communicate the starting and ending points are the 72 to travel between Ferreries and Santo Tomás.
To move between Ferreries and Cala Galdana you can take the bus line 51, 52 or 53. If you have someone to take you by car or motorcycle, to go to Cala Galdana:
- From Ciutadella you have to take the main road to Maó and in the roundabout just before reaching Ferreries, follow the signs towards Cala Galdana, it has no loss.
- From Maó you have to take the main road to Ciutadella, and just after passing Ferreries, at the roundabout, follow the signs towards Cala Galdana.
Once in Cala Galdana you have to look for the beginning of the section east of the beach, on a road very close to the viewpoint of Cala Galdana. You can see it in the detailed map.
Circular Route
The best way to do this circular route is simply to go back the way you came.
It is only 3km and you are back at the starting point, and it will probably take you less time than trying to return by bus, as there is no direct line and they also go around the interior of Menorca quite a lot.
If for some reason you want to return by public transport, you can take the 32 from Son Bou to Alaior, and then the 71 from Alaior to Santo Tomás.
