Top 5 Sunsets in Menorca

One of the typical activities during summer in Menorca is watching the sunset over the sea.  Watching the sunset it’s a relaxing activity that you can make with your family, with your friends or with your partner. It’s a free activity, it doesn’t last much, so you can do anything you had planned to do before and after the sunset!

Although you can see beautiful sunsets from many places of the coast, here you can find 5 locations that I consider the best 5 sunsets that you can watch in Menorca

1. Cavalleria Lighthouse

Watching the sunset from the cliffs of the Cavalleria’s lighthouse is spectacular. Color combinations above the sea where you can often spot some sailboats or little motorboats.

In the Illa des Porros, lots of rocks are stacked by tourists, wild vegetation occupies the landscape… Everytime I go there, I’m speechless. Free, accessible and for all audience, a really different sunset.

2. Punta Nati Lighthouse

Punta Nati Lighthouse isn’t left behind in the competition with the Cavalleria’s one. It’s true that it doesn’t have the highs or the landscape of the Cavalleria Lighthouse, but it’s more accessible from Ciutadella.

This means that almost always you will find people in Punta Nati watching the sunset, so get ready to applause when the sunset finishes!

3. Monte Toro

¿Can you watch the sunset from the highest point of the island? Yes! and it also has free parking and a gift shop. You will be able to see not only the sunset but also a great part of Menorca from the highest place. I encourage you to go to the top by cycling!

4. Maxis Bar – Sa Posta de Sol

Sa Posta de Sol, previously known as Maxis Bar, is a Bar-Restaurant that allows you to watch the sunset from a different place. For those of you who are more lazy, you can watch the sunset from the bar while you drink a refreshing beer. I have to say that it’s been hard for me to talk about this secret place as I go very often. Don’t tell anybody!

5. Cova d’en Xoroi

The most typical and crowded but not less spectacular. When you arrive to the airport, they are already distributing flyers to visit the cave, but it has an undeniable charm. It may be expansive but the views from the cave are really beautiful.

If you don’t have budget to get in, I’ll give you a clue, if you go to the cliffs placed above the cave you will be able to see the same sunset without paying a cent… but with no mojito or beer!
