Menorca is an island exposed to winds. Both when it blows Tramuntana (north wind, the most common) and when it blows Migjorn (south wind) there are appreciable changes in sea state and the beaches.
This is because there are two quite distinct areas in Menorca. For this reason, most people look at the wind before going to the beach to avoid surprises.
This does not mean that the wind must condition your plans, but if you look at the wind before going to the beach you can ensure a peaceful afternoon without much swell… I always do so.

As a general rule, whenever the wind blows from the south is better to go to the northern beaches, and whenever the wind blows from the north is better to go to the southern beaches. Here you can see a list of beaches north and south beaches.
