en Blanes is an urban beach within the municipality of Ciutadella.
Cala en Blanes is a very small beach suitable for people looking for comfort and family time without large landscapes.
The sand of the beach is white and fine, although a little more compact than other beaches in the south.
The beach is very closed and protected from wind and waves, so in general there are no big waves.

Cala en Blanes is perfect for young children to play on the shore.

How to get to Cala en Blanes

Getting to Cala en Blanes is very easy, and you can go either by car, on foot or by bike because of its good communications.

  • If you go by car from Ciutadella you can take the promenade of Sa Farola and you will see that when the bike lane ends there is the parking of Cala en Blanes, free but with very little capacity.
  • If you go from Maó you have to take the main road to Ciutadella and before going to the center of Ciutadella take the detour to Cala en Blanes or to Los Delfines and follow the signs.

On the beach you can park in one of the two free parking lots, one on each side of the bay.

Cala en Blanes has two beach bars (See the best beach bars in Menorca), Sa Cova and Pirates.
You can eat in any of the two overlooking the cove.
It also has sun loungers and umbrellas for the most comfortable. Families can also rent skates and go out of the cove, although do not intend to go far away and less if the wind blows strong.
The farthest you can get from Cala en Blanes on a skateboard assuming 2 fit people would be to Cala en Brut.

Almost every day, early in the morning and at sunset, the path of Sa Farola is full of people who come out to walk, jog, walk their dog or simply to contemplate the views of the sea from this wonderful promenade.

In the summer of 2021 opened the HOPI beach bar on the sand of Cala en Blanes.
It is run by a very nice young couple and they make some basic tapas, fruit smoothies and various cocktails.
If you feel like relaxing on this family beach, it is a very good plan, especially at sunset.
