Cala Roja
Cala RojaCala
Roja or Cala Rotja is the little sister of Cavalleria.
It is a small and isolated beach that even on the busiest days of summer is relatively empty.
It is normal, since it is next to Cavalleria, one of the jewels of the north coast of Menorca with abundant amounts of sand where to plant the umbrella and towel.
The name Cala Roja (Red Cove) comes from the remains of red clay that are just on the side of the shore of the beach, so it is normal to see tourists smearing their skin all over the beach. tourists smearing all their skin in this red mud.

Remember that bathing in mud is bad for the environment and for the skin.

If you go to Cavalleria and you do not feel like taking a bath of crowds, you can always choose to walk to Cala Roja, although there is much less sand and more algae on the shore you will be calmer than in Cavalleria.
