The Route

Section 6 of the Camí de Cavalls runs about 9 km of trail between the beaches of Binimel-là and Cala Pilar.
Starting from the beach of Binimel-là and passing Cala Pregondó, Cala Pregonda and Cala Barril and Cala Calderer you will reach Cala Pilar at the end and enjoy spectacular scenery throughout the stage.

How to reach the Point of Departure

You need your own vehicle to get to any point of this stage.
It is not possible to arrive by public transportation to the starting point or to the end of the stage.

  • From Ciutadella take the main road to Maó and turn off at Es Mercadal.
  • If you are coming from Maó, take the main road and turn right as soon as you reach Es Mercadal.

Once you enter Es Mercadal, there are signs with the name “Playas” everywhere, it is very difficult to get lost.

  • Follow the beach signs that will lead you to the Tramuntana Trail .
  • The road leading to Binimel-là is dangerous because there is room for just two cars and cyclists can circulate in both directions.
  • Respect the speed limits if you don’t want to have any surprises in the curves.
    There are dry walls on both sides of the road, so it is better not to tempt fate.

On the way to Binimel-là there are signs indicating Cala Binimel-là and Cala Pregonda.
There is a parking lot with a lot of capacity, but in summer it is not easy to find a good place.
From the parking to the beach it is about 5 minutes walk, and you pass by a lake with ducks.
