Lluriach – Direct Sale of Artisan Cheese from Menorca

The farm is made up of the Lluriach Nou and Binissarrayet estates.
Thecattle of this farm graze freely and in meadows delimited by dry stone walls.
The former owners of Lluriach received the Barony of Lluriach from King Charles II in 1683.
This noble title is still held by the current owners, and is the oldest noble title on the island of Menorca.

The Camí de Tramuntana
The Camí de Tramuntana is a narrow road that leaves from Es Mercadal.
This path is flanked by dry stone walls.
The path is frequented by hikers and cyclists throughout the year.
In summer this road is used to go to the famous beaches of the north of Es Mercadal(Cavalleria, Binimel-là, Pregonda, etc) and therefore it is very busy with vehicles all day long.
In the middle of the Camí de Tramuntana you can buy Artisan Cheese and other typical products of Menorca in the farm of Lluriach.

Menorcan Cheeses (Cow and Goat)
A delicious cheese with Protected Designation of Origin (P.D.O.) has been produced in Menorca since 1997.
Its fine aroma and flavor is the result of the combination of the particular geography of the island, the Menorcan livestock culture and the love that the producers put into its artisan elaboration and maturation.
In Lluriach you can buy:
- Cow’s cheese: Cheese with Protected Designation of Origin, made in a traditional way with milk obtained exclusively from its cows.
- Cured goat cheese.
Sobrasada and Sausages
They have spicy sobrasada and spicy sobrasada artesana, and you can order a whole one or a vacuum-packed portion.
You can also buy sausages such as:
- Cuixot: It is a typical Menorcan sausage made with pork offal, cooked, chopped and mixed with spices and fennel.
The fennel gives it a different smell and flavor from the rest of the sausages. - Carn i Xulla: It is a cured sausage made with pork.
In Menorca it is also known as “salsitxa”.
Jams and Marmalades
The most typical jam of Menorca is the Figat jam, because in Menorca there are a lot of fig trees with very tasty figs.
