Menorca in 5 days
Última actualización: 19/08/2024
After the success of our guide of Menorca in 7 days, we have decided to make a slightly smaller version for people who go less days to Menorca.
If you want to have a guide like this one but adapted to your tastes and made to measureyou can hire it and we will help you to have the best possible vacations in Menorca.
- This guide is designed for people staying in Maò or Ciutadella (as these are the two largest population centers in Menorca).
- Every day they can be exchanged with each other. There is no definite order.
In fact it is better to change the days to adapt to the wind.

Which Beaches Are Best to Go To…
The most important thing for me before going to a beach is to check the wind.
- If the wind blows from the north, it is much better to go to beaches in the south of the island.
- If the wind blows from the south, it is much better to go to beaches in the north of the island.
This sounds silly, but you’ll like the beach a lot more if you follow this simple tip why:
- There will be fewer jellyfish
- Water will be cleaner
- The wind will bother you less
- There will probably be fewer waves (not always).
Day 1 – Cavalleria Beach and Monte Toro (North Zone)

- Visited Places: Cavalleria, Cavalleria Lighthouse, Monte Toro
- Activities: Snorkeling in Cavalleria, Sunset at Cavalleria Lighthouse, Panoramic Views from the top of Mount Toro
- Driving time from Maò: Maò > Monte Toro > Cavalleria > Faro > Maò (1 h 25 min – 70 Km)
- Time by car from Ciutadella: Ciutadella > Monte Toro > Cavalleria > Faro > Ciutadella (1 h 35 min – 80 Km)
- Walking time: 30 minutes
- Beach time: 2-3 hours
- Budget: 0€/person (excluding gasoline)
This day is designed to know in detail the north coast of Menorca.
Both from the lighthouse of Cavalleria and from Monte Toro you will have unparalleled views. First you can start by going up to Monte Toro to situate yourself and see the scenery of the entire north coast.
If you feel like having something to eat I like the Restaurant Tast. Then you can go to the beach of Cavalleria.
The snorkeling here is one of the best on the island.
If you get bored on the beach, behind you have the Camí de Cavalls that takes you to Cala Mica, one of the coves with less people even in summer. At sunset you head to the lighthouse of Cavalleria.
You see slowly because the road that goes there is beautiful and there are wild goats on the sides.
Close the fences if you are the last car, motorcycle or bike.
At the lighthouse you can enjoy the highest cliffs of Menorca and a bar if you feel like having a drink.
Day 2 – Son Bou, Naveta des Tudons, Walk and Dinner in Ciutadella (South Zone)

- Places visited: Son Bou, Naveta des Tudons Monument, Old Town of Ciutadella, Ciutadella ‘s Port.

- Budget: 2€/person (excluding gasoline)
This day allows you to visit the longest beach in Menorca, with capacity for thousands of people.
You will also see the oldest building in Europe, the Naveta des Tudons.
In the afternoon you can go shopping in the commercial area of Ciutadella known as Ses Voltes.
This is a 300m long, narrow street with stores on both sides and very busy all year round.
You will find local bakeries, clothes, gastronomy, opticians, jewelers, bookstores, tattoo shops… practically everything.
If you get tired of Ses Voltes you can take a detour to the narrow side streets, even narrower and with lots of local stores.
Day 3 – Hiking to Binigaus, Wine and Cheese Tasting and Sunset at Punta Nati (South Zone)

- Places visited: Santo Tomás, Binigaus, Escorxada (optional), Hort de Sant Patrici, Punta Nati lighthouse.

- Time by car from Ciutadella: Ciutadella > Hort Sant Patrici > Santo Tomás > Punta Nati > Ciutadella (1 h 35 min – 75 Km)
- Walking time: 45 minutes
- Beach time: 2-3 hours
- Budget: 8€/person (excluding gasoline)
This day can be done without problems from almost anywhere on the island.
In the morning you start the day with a tasting of Menorcan wines and cheeses at the Hort de Sant Patrici (12€).
Then you can go to see the village of Ferreries if you feel like it, or go directly to Santo Tomás. From Santo Tomás you can walk about 10 or 15 minutes along the beach to Binigaus.
If you get tired of the beach very quickly, in Santo Tomás you have many restaurants and bars on the beach where you can have a drink.
If instead of eating and drinking you prefer to walk, you can make the excursion to Cala Escorxada, but keep in mind that it takes 2 hours to get there and back.
Day 4 – Full Day Sailing Route (North Zone)

- Places visited: Depending on the weather, some northern beaches(Pregonda, Pilar, Favàritx).
- Activities: Full day sailing trip (8h – 110€/person – maximum 7 people)
- Driving time from Maó: Maó > Fornells > Maó (55 min – 55 Km)
- Time by car from Ciutadella: Ciutadella > Fornells > Cavalleria (1 h 15 min – 70 Km)
- Walking time: 0 minutes
- Beach time: (all day at sea)
- Budget: 110€/person (excluding gasoline)
I usually repeat that it is worth doing a boat trip if you visit Menorca.
The feeling of sailing and the possibility to enjoy the beaches in a more private way (only 7 people go on the boat) make it a very unique experience.
This day is designed to spend the day sailing and visiting different beaches of Menorca.
Day 5 – Free Day
Here I leave you 6 suggestions of very good plans:
- Visit one of the 30 viewpoints of Menorca(Free): I have seen them all and there is something for everyone.
- Kayak and Snorkel from Fornells (40€/person): The bay of Fornells is perfect for kayaking, as a couple, with friends or even as a family.
- Play Padel with sea views (20€/h approx.): In the urbanization of Los Delfines you have 4 paddle courts with sea views.
You have other paddle courts all over the island. - Exclusive plan in boat without skipper ( 300€): If you loved sailing, you have budget and you are 4 people, you can rent this boat and sail on your own in the north of Menorca.
- Take a route along the famous Camí de Cavalls(Free): My favorite pastime is to walk along the Camí de Cavalls along the north coast.
Free and suitable for anyone who likes to walk.
In summer you have to be careful with the sun and bring water. - Go to some of the Best Beaches of Menorca: If you want beach and more beach, you have dozens of options!
You can also choose to go to the emptiest beaches in summer.
